Mountain Ramblings is my chronicle of my explorations of the outdoor places around where I live. The hope is that this blog will not only inspire the reader to try some new things and find some excitement in the natural world, but will also keep you up to date on what I’m up to.
My name is Ethan; I live in Harrisonburg, Virginia, which is located in the middle of the Shenandoah Valley. I’m half an hour west of Shenandoah National Park, and about 20 minutes east of the closest parts of the George Washington National Forest. This area is awesome because it provides great rock climbing, canoeing, caving, and hiking options without much of a drive.
I’m married to a beautiful girl named Melissa; we have a cat named Oliver, who doesn’t want anything to do with our adventures in the natural world. He’d rather guard the house. Melissa and I got married in the summer of 2010. Melissa is my constant companion on many of these outdoor adventures.
If you’d like to come with us sometime, feel free to drop us an email; the more the merrier!
